Thanksgiving Gratitude Hunger Drive Campaign

About This Campaign

Did you know that Arizona is tied as the 5th worst state in the U. S. for overall food insecurity? 1 in 4 children; 1 in 5 adults; and 1 in 7 seniors struggle with hunger in Arizona. And in Maricopa County alone, more than 623,300 (16.5%) people live in poverty. 26% of those living in poverty are children! Nearly 1,138,000 (29%) are “working poor.” Most respondents to a Maricopa Association of Governments survey listed FOOD as their major need!

As someone who has had to turn to food community services in my past during a rough patch, I am now looking to pay it forward and do a campaign hunger drive. I thought what better way than just before Thanksgiving.

If you feel called to share something to this cause, I'd be extremely grateful. Thanksgiving is about gratitude for our blessings and this is a great way to appreciate what you have by sharing what you do have with others.

My goal for this campaign is $200. I am working with United Food Bank, an exceptional organization that has the ability with their purchasing power to turn every dollar donated in to $9, and food for 5 people!

I'm grateful to everyone who feels called to donate (no matter how small - remember even a $1 donation feeds five!!!) and wish everyone a blessed and beautiful holiday season of appreciation and gratitude.

United Food Bank

Campaign to Support United Food Bank

United Food Bank was organized in 1983 as a nonprofit joint venture among East Valley cities and their respective United Ways to gather and distribute food to organizations that help our neighbors in need. United Food Bank has since become the key provider of food resources to agencies and community groups in the Greater East Valley and Eastern Arizona who feed thousands of men, women and children 365 days a year. United Food Bank is a member of Feeding America, a national network of over 200 food banks that provides connections to national food companies and other important resources.
