Volunteer Opportunities

Typical regular volunteer opportunities are as follows:
Starting January 2020 9am to 11am shift
Evening Shifts Monday and Wednesdays 6pm to 8pm
Mondays/Tuesdays are Sorting Food Drive Donations
Wednesdays/Thursdays are packing Emergency Food Bags
Fridays are Help Yourself Co-op: Serve directly with our families (we serve approx. 300 plus families)
Friday shift 7am to 12pm
What to wear:
Closed toed shoes, no slip on are required. You will be sent home with open shoes. 
Clothes you do not mind getting a little dirty. No dangling jewelry
Things to know:
5 years of age and up are allowed
5 to 15 years of age must be accompanied by an adult and must have a signed waiver by a parent or guardian 
16 and up can volunteer independently but must have a signed waiver by a parent or guardian
Volunteers will be standing, lifting, and bending throughout their shift, please make aware of any restrictions. 
Water is provided.


United Food Bank provides food to more than 200 agencies in Eastern Maricopa County, Pinal County, Gila County, and Southern Apache and Navajo County, including homeless shelters, food pantries, churches, schools, after-school programs and more. 
Every year, we distribute appx. 27 million pounds of food to the needy in Arizona - that's enough food to provide 59,000 meals each day!
